A recent analysis of the pet industry marketplace, commissioned by the Retail Division of Morgan Stanley – one of the leading financial advisory firms – paints a glowing picture. Here are some jaw-dropping facts included in an excerpt of their report entitled, “The Petriarchy Strikes Back…by the End of 2025”:

  • Spending growth in the pet industry could reach 7% annually by the year 2030
  • Spending on pets is predicted to reach $1,445 per animal by 2026, and $1,733 by 2030
  • Overall spending will reach $261 billion by 2030, up from $122 billion in 2019
  • Pet health (such as regular dog walks) is the largest sub-category spend – $112 billion by 2030
  • Expanded point-of-care spending could add as much as 3% market growth overall

All Hike Doggies must meet the following requirements to ensure all our doggies remain safe and have an awesome hike:

  • Be neutered or spayed
  • Be well socialized around other doggies
  • Be non-aggressive or reactive towards; dogs, people, wildlife & other trail users (runners, bikes, etc)
  • Be well mannered while hiking on a leash
  • Be relaxed & calm during the ride to & from the trailhead in their Zen Den (comfortable individual travel space) aboard our Hike Doggie buses
  • Be current on their vaccines (Rabies, Canine Influenza, Distemper, Bordetella, Leptospirosis)
  • Be at least 6 months old or 4 months old if leash trained

If your doggie does not meet these requirements, we recommend neutering/spaying (if you are not planning on breeding your cutie) & do targeted training in any area where he/she may need some help so they can enjoy an enriched lifestyle full of outdoor fun with friends!
