Hey there!
We’re Ken and Michelle Nelson, the proud owners of Hike Doggie Denver East.
Dogs have always been part of our family, and today that includes our own pups, Teddy “Bear” Roosevelt and Pascal “Extra-Bougie” Wiggles. Together, we’ve raised five children—Tori, Ryan, Megan, Mia, and Jack—and as a family, we’ve always shared a love for dogs, the outdoors, and the joy that comes from spending time outside together.
Caring for others has been at the center of both of our lives. Ken and Michelle are both Registered Nurses, and Ken has also served as a Firefighter/EMT. We believe the same qualities that matter in those professions—safety, dependability, compassion, and attention to detail—are just as important when caring for dogs. We’re grateful to work alongside a team that shares those values and is committed to giving every dog a safe, fun, and enriching experience.
Ken was born in New Jersey, Michelle was born right here in Colorado, and we both love the Colorado outdoors. Hike Doggie brings together so many things we care about—dogs, family, service, safety, and healthy Colorado adventure.
Our mission is to make dogs as happy as they make us. We believe every dog deserves more than a quick walk around the block. Our goal is to provide safe, structured, on-leash hikes that give dogs exercise, enrichment, fresh air, and the chance to come home happy, tired, and fulfilled.

On our call we’ll schedule a 30 minute in-person Get To Know meeting at a convenient time at your home to meet you and your furry child to get some doggie details, home access information and set your dog up on a custom schedule.
