Crumpet

Anna Petersen

“We’ve been using Hike Doggie for our corgi, Crumpet, since September of 2024 – and we absolutely love it! My husband and I love going to work knowing the big blue Hike Doggie bus will be picking up Crumpet and taking him on an exciting adventure. He gets to explore our beautiful Colorado trails and gets plenty of exercise, socialization, and sniffs! We also get INCREDIBLE photos – it’s always so clear that Crumpet had a blast and has so much fun with his hiker and furry friends! To top it all off, each day we are sent a fun story giving us a recap of their day. We can’t reccommend Hike Doggie enough! Barrett, the owner, is also so kind and incredibly flexible with our busy schedule. It’s such a relief knowing we have Hike Doggie and that Crumpet is in great hands and having the time of his life while we’re working. Highly recommend Hike Doggie for any dog owner looking for a reliable, fun, and caring service for their pup!”

“My dogs absolutely LOVE Hike Doggie! (And we do too!!) They wait by the door for pick up and always come home smiling. Barrett and his team do a fantastic job. They’re respectful, kind and really really care for our pups. My dogs are not crate trained nor are they the most socialized, so I was worried about sending them off, but Barrett assured me they would do great and, to date, they’ve never had any issues. I’ve actually seen improvements in their behavior. Pick up and drop off couldn’t be easier; they’ve done a great job with the service they provide our family. I absolutely love that they get treats and from the photos they share, I know they are in good hands having a great time. AND the team responds to all my silly questions very quickly. It’s a unique experience for you and your dogs. I could not recommend them enough!! Everyone should be sending their dogs to Hike Doggie! ”

Barret Marcum
Franchise Owner, Denver South

Hi, I’m Barrett – the incredibly lucky franchise owner of Hike Doggie Denver South! I was born and raised in Tennessee, where I spent my summers on the Tennessee River and exploring the Smoky Mountains. My love for animals has always been a central part of my life, and I’ve been fortunate to work in zoos, national parks, and veterinary hospitals. Now, I get to spend my days in the mountains with amazing dogs – and it hasn’t felt like work since the day I joined Hike Doggie.

Before starting this adventure, I spent 13 years in the veterinary field. I began as a kennel technician and grew into leadership roles, eventually overseeing 20 veterinary hospitals. Throughout my career, I’ve been driven by a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of animals. I know firsthand the joy pets bring into our lives, and I strive to return that love and care every day. That’s why Hike Doggie’s motto, “To make dogs as happy as they make us,” resonates so deeply with me.

Outside of work, I’m happily married to my wife Abby – a fellow animal lover and veterinarian. We have two incredible kids, Charleigh (15) and Beck (4), and three beloved pets: Moose and Razzy, our adventure-loving dogs, and Floki, our independent (and occasionally mischievous) cat. Our whole family plays a part in the business – from trail hikes to behind-the-scenes support and even the occasional cleanup crew!

Animals have been my passion from the very beginning, and I feel so fortunate to do what I do each day. I truly believe our hikes strengthen the bond between humans and their furry companions. I can’t wait to meet you and your dog out on the trail soon!

All Hike Doggies must meet the following requirements to ensure all our doggies remain safe and have an awesome hike:

  • Be neutered or spayed
  • Be well socialized around other doggies
  • Be non-aggressive or reactive towards; dogs, people, wildlife & other trail users (runners, bikes, etc)
  • Be well mannered while hiking on a leash
  • Be relaxed & calm during the ride to & from the trailhead in their Zen Den (comfortable individual travel space) aboard our Hike Doggie buses
  • Be current on their vaccines (Rabies, Canine Influenza, Distemper, Bordetella, Leptospirosis)
  • Be at least 6 months old or 4 months old if leash trained

If your doggie does not meet these requirements, we recommend neutering/spaying (if you are not planning on breeding your cutie) & do targeted training in any area where he/she may need some help so they can enjoy an enriched lifestyle full of outdoor fun with friends!
