Hey, I’m Jodi—but my granddaughters call me “Grit.”
Jodi “Grit” Burns is a passionate entrepreneur, community leader, and dog lover who believes life is meant to be lived fully—by both people and their pets. She is the founder of Hike Doggie VB, a premium dog hiking service designed to give dogs the enrichment, structure, and adventure they deserve.
Jodi is also the force behind Sweetwater Cuisine, a beloved catering company known for bringing people together through food, and Daniel’s Grace, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families navigating cancer with financial assistance, wellness, and community.
With a life rooted in service, hospitality, and heart, Jodi created Hike Doggie as a natural extension of what she does best—caring for others. Whether it’s a family, a community, or a pack of dogs, she leads with intention, compassion, and grit.

Fun Fact
Mississippi raised her on home-cooked meals around the family dinner table, wide open land, and a deep love for family, which always included animals. Her very first dog was named Zipper, followed by Button (and a cat named Sally in between) and that love for animals has been running alongside her ever since.
