These ones are very special to us at Hike Doggie, as we created them ourselves! We wanted a healthy, refreshing, delicious homemade treat for summer to spoil our pups with post hike. They are simple to make, extremely adorable, and refreshing as can be!

Ingredients:

  • 1 jar applesauce (make sure you get the sugar free apple sauce, preferably organic)
  • 1 jar filtered water
  • Silicone ice trays 

Instructions:

Mix together 1 jar of sugar free apple sauce and 1 jar of water. (You can also JUST do apple sauce, but this helps with the consistency of pouring it and helps save some!)

Mix well and pour into ice trays. We use these adorable paw and bone shaped silicone ice trays, which work great and are the perfect size!

Freeze overnight.

All Hike Doggies must meet the following requirements to ensure all our doggies remain safe and have an awesome hike:

  • Be neutered or spayed
  • Be well socialized around other doggies
  • Be non-aggressive or reactive towards; dogs, people, wildlife & other trail users (runners, bikes, etc)
  • Be well mannered while hiking on a leash
  • Be relaxed & calm during the ride to & from the trailhead in their Zen Den (comfortable individual travel space) aboard our Hike Doggie buses
  • Be current on their vaccines (Rabies, Canine Influenza, Distemper, Bordetella, Leptospirosis)
  • Be at least 6 months old or 4 months old if leash trained

If your doggie does not meet these requirements, we recommend neutering/spaying (if you are not planning on breeding your cutie) & do targeted training in any area where he/she may need some help so they can enjoy an enriched lifestyle full of outdoor fun with friends!
